Traverse City Kiwanis Club Launches Annual American Flag Project Fundraiser

The Kiwanis Club of Traverse City is proud to announce the kickoff of its annual Kiwanis American Flag Project, a community-driven fundraiser and service initiative to promote patriotism and support local youth programs.

The Kiwanis American Flag Project, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City, is the club's flagship fundraiser and service project. The initiative raises awareness of the Kiwanis Club's mission while fostering a sense of patriotism.

Each year, Kiwanis members, along with community sponsors, work diligently to install and maintain American flags at various locations across Traverse City. The flags are raised and lowered four times yearly, coinciding with Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
The project spans eight prominent locations in Traverse City, and flags are displayed in groups at Bill Marsh, Bryant Park, Grand Traverse Civic Center, Darrow Park, Tom's Food Markets at 14th Street, Elmwood Park, and Sunset Park.

"We invite everyone to get involved in this meaningful community initiative," said Marc Judge, Chair of the Flag Committee. "By participating in the American Flag Project, you're showing your support for our nation's flag and contributing to vital youth programs and initiatives in our local area."
Community members can participate in the American Flag Project at different levels: Gold ($500), Silver ($200), or Bronze $50. The funds raised from this project directly benefit various youth-focused programs supported by the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City, including the Kiwanis Dictionary Project, bike safety programs, ski school scholarships, and student recognition programs like "Student of the Month."
